I did the content edit on this testimonial for Austin Ridge Bible Church in Austin, TX. Footage was provided by Austin Ridge as were the final graphics and color treatment which were done to match the video with the look and feel of videos in a larger teaching series.

The project was a freelance project I was given while going through the application process for the church’s media department.

Archive Project – Mari Iijima’s “Lorna Doone” Soundtrack Album Artwork

In 2002, I was bestowed the great honor of designing the artwork to accompany a soundtrack album by Japanese singing superstar Mari Iijima.

The soundtrack is an accompaniment to the 2001 remaster of the 1922 silent film classic “Lorna Doone.” Ms. Iijima ws commissioned by the film’s restorer, Jesse Pierce, to compose and record this completely new orchestral score for the film.

My approach to the design was to play off of the aged film look, creating a sepia-tone color palette and using dust, scratches, and other elements to mimic film damage.

The inside of the booklet features an impression of the original 1922 film poster.

The photo of Ms. Iijima was provided by her and is by Ken Hagler.

Ms. Iijima was kind enough to sign this soft-proof of the cover artwork for me.

Radio Spot – Asher Saturday Night Consignment Auction

I wrote, produced, directed, and edited this radio spot as a spec piece for Asher Auctions of Niangua, MO. The spot promotes the auction house’s weekly consignment auction and features the vocal talents of Mr. Jimmy Hodson (www.JimmyHodson.com) the voice of FoxSports and Monday Night Football.

I have been working with the auction house for a few months now creating promotional materials including a new logo/ID, a new website here (still being integrated to their current domain), and printed items like this flyer:

Commando Tactics for Digital Filmmakers by Craig D. Forrest – Book Covers

This design has actually evolved over the course of about three years. Originally this was just a mock-up  of the front and spine to be included with a PDF version of the book. As the book has now gone into actual print form from Windsock Press, I have just completed re-laying the design complete with back cover for publishing.

The book was written by my close longtime friend and collaborator Craig Forrest of Windsock Films. When I was approached about designing the cover, I chose to go with the look of a military manual. The cameraman and globe graphics were gleaned from the internet and modified and laid out by me. The text styles were also chosen and laid out by me. The photo of the author, Windsock Press logo, and wording were all provided by Craig Forrest. Original design and final layout for press are all by me.

Also presented here are the original mock-up versions of the cover, including the upcoming Spanish version, as included in the original PDF version of the book.

Country Villa Plaza – Promotional Opening Title

Title graphic for a promotional video for Country Villa Plaza, an assisted living home in California. This, and three other title cards, were custom creations by me. Logo was provided by the client as JPG and re-drawn as vector and Cinema 4D objects by me.

Produced and directed by Craig Forrest for Windsock Films.

Graphics, 3D objects, animation, and compositing by me.

Stella’s Voice – “Will You Be Stella’s Voice?” Promo

Promotional photo-animation commissioned by Stella’s Voice.

Completed audio track with voice and music provided by Stella’s Voice along with all source images of children and teens from their programs. Photos of adults partly provided by Stella’s Voice with the rest selected from iStockPhoto by me.

Joe Sindorf produced the promo in conjunction with Stella’s Voice.

Photo re-touching and effects, animation, and graphics by me.

I would like to thank Joe Sindorf and the wonderful people at Stella’s Voice for allowing me to work on this project for their incredible organization. It was an honor.

Dr. D. James Kennedy Seal – Model and Animation Test (unfinished)

During the very short time that I was employed by Coral Ridge Ministries, I developed this model in Cinema 4D of the Dr. Kennedy seal to be used as an introduction graphic for re-issued video teaching materials from the ministry featuring the late doctor. The piece was never officially commissioned, nor was there ever a proper approval process so the work remains unofficial. Because of the abrupt ending of my contract with them (due to financial issues in the ministry), I was never able to complete the project and all that remains is this low-resolution test animation and several mock-ups of the model of the seal.

The logo was provided by Coral Ridge as an eps vector file which I then dissected in Adobe Illustrator and imported into Cinema 4D. The model was then developed from the vector skeleton and new shapes were built as necessary. All Cinema 4D work was done by me.

As I was provided no official color or texture scheme for the logo, I developed a number of variations and combinations for consideration. Here are a few of them:

Church News Opener – Cottonwood

Intro animation for the weekly church news at a church that I worked for about two years ago. The opener was featured for nearly two years in the church’s video announcements.

Conceived, designed, and built by GMVFX in After Effects with Riot Gear and Magic Bullet.
